Quinnipiac vs Michigan State Prediction

Quinnipiac has become a nice program in recent years and will gain valuable experience with this game. However, there’s a Grand Canyon-sized gap between these teams. Michigan State is absolutely loaded and capable of a Final Four run. While teams are trying to find their footing through the first week and adjust to roster turnover, Sparty should hit the ground running and flex their muscle early. Quinnipiac just doesn’t have the horses to compete with MSU. Thick number, but I’ll lay the points with Michigan State anyway.

Quinnipiac Bobcats Betting Preview

Quinnipiac won 19 games last season and enters year four under coach Tom Pecora. Quinnipiac has won 19 or more games in each of its last four seasons.

Keith McKnight returns after averaging 11 points and 5.9 rebounds, while Tai Turnage averaged 3.6 points and 1.3 rebounds. Christopher Skenderi averaged 1.2 rebounds per game, and Nate Guerengomba played in 409 minutes last season. Quinnipiac lost significant production with multiple starters, so there’s going to be a serious adjustment period. Transfers Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton and Mike Parrotta will be asked to step up right away to replace lost production. Pecora has turned Quinnipiac into a winner, so there’s belief in the building, but there’s a lot of new faces on this squad.

Michigan State Spartans Betting Preview

Michigan State has made the big dance six straight years and enters year 32 under coach Tom Izzo. Michigan State has missed the big dance just once since the 1997-98 season.

Jeremy Fears Jr. returns after averaging 15.2 points and 2.4 rebounds, while Coen Carr averaged 12 points and 5.4 rebounds. Kur Teng averaged 1 assist per game, and Jordan Scott played in 729 minutes last season. Michigan State returns significant production and depth, with five of its top eight scorers back. Fears is a National Player of the Year candidate, and Carr is coming off possibly his best season yet. Anton Bonke comes over from Charlotte while Jasiah Jervis and Carlos Medlock headline a talented freshman class. Michigan State is a Big Ten contender and capable of making a Final Four run. This is a strong Sparty squad.
