Presbyterian Blue Hose Betting Preview

This year the Hose kicked things off with a matchup against Charlotte. Presbyterian lost that one 88-79, but came back for a win over Carolina Christian 120-45 in the next game. The Hose fell again last Friday versus NC State by a score of 81-72.

Matched up against Wofford in their latest outing, the Hose were down 40-32 by the break. Presbyterian came back with a 39-28 second half, however, and won it 71-68. Kobe Stewart put up 26 points with 10 rebounds in the victory.

Kennesaw State Owls Betting Preview

Over on the Kennesaw State side, they’ve got three games in the books so far. The Owls didn’t have any issues with Toccoa Falls in their opener during a 110-61 win. Game two was Kennesaw State’s first loss, however, an 88-84 affair versus Cal Baptist.

Matched up against Bryan on Wednesday, the Owls were up comfortably 51-29 by halftime. Kennesaw State cruised from there on a 43-30 run and won it 94-59. Braedan Lue finished with a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds in the victory.

Why the Kennesaw State Owls will win

  • Kennesaw State has won 15 of its last 17-day games at KSU Convocation Center against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Presbyterian has lost 24 of its last 32-day games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Kennesaw State has won the first half in each of its last four home games against the Big South Conference.

Why the Presbyterian Blue Hose will win

  • Kennesaw State has lost each of its last five-day games against non-AP-ranked opponents.

Presbyterian vs Kennesaw State Prediction

I’ll probably just stick with Kennesaw State, but you could make a case either way. The Owls drilled Bryan in their last outing, shooting 42.4 percent from the field with 21 team assists and a whopping 66 rebounds (22 offensive). Kennesaw State has a pair of soft wins so far this year, but they’ve scored 84 or more points in all three games.

As for Presbyterian, they rallied late to take care of Wofford despite a 36-28 rebounding deficit and a spotty 12-of-21 (57.1 percent) from the line. I could see the hose taking this one if all goes well, but in a home game, I’m leaning toward Kennesaw State cover-wise.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Kennesaw State Owls -3.5
