Presbyterian Blue Hose Betting Preview
The Hose lost to Navy in their opener this year then beat Bluefield U, East Tennessee State and Georgia State from there. After losses to South Carolina, Sac State, Cal and UCLA, Presbyterian has since gone 3-1. The Hose have a lone loss to Wofford in that quartet, otherwise beating Columbia International, the Citadel and Morehead State. That gives Presbyterian a 6-6 overall record across the first 12 games so far this year.
In the Morehead State matchup on Saturday, the Blue Hose were down 42-39 by halftime. Presbyterian woke up in the second, taking a 41-30 run on the way to an 80-72 win in the end. Topping the scorers was Carl Parrish with 18 points, and Triston Wilson added 17 points with six assists and seven rebounds. Jonah Pierce added 11 points with 16 rebounds in the winning effort as well.
East Carolina Pirates Betting Preview
Over on the East Carolina side, they limped to a 2-5 start. The only wins in that time were over Georgia Southern and Elizabeth City State; otherwise it was losses to Richmond, UNC Wilmington, Charleston Southern, Michigan State and St. Bonaventure. Since then it’s been a 2-2 run with wins over Maryland Eastern Shore and Buffalo around losses to UNC Greensboro and App State. That gives the Pirates a 4-7 overall record so far.
In the Buffalo game on Sunday the Pirates entered the locker room with an ugly 47-28 deficit. East Carolina hit a 45-23 run the rest of the way however, leading to a 73-70 win. Presbyterian vs East Carolina Prediction
I’ll take a stab on East Carolina but I’m probably not touching this one. The Pirates had a semi-miraculous comeback win versus a good Buffalo team over the weekend, despite hitting just 36.4 percent from the field and 4-of-20 (20 percent) from outside. East Carolina had 23-of-30 (76.7 percent) from the line though, and notched 40 rebounds with just six turnovers. The good news is that the Pirates have 68 or more points in three of the last four games; the bad news is that they’re just 2-2 in that time.
As for Presbyterian, they also had a second-half comeback over the weekend versus Morehead State but theirs was less severe. The Hose shot a nice 50.9 percent from the field but also missed 11 of 30 free throws (63.3 percent) and had 16 turnovers. Presbyterian has a nice 69 or more points in each of their last three wins, so if they can reach that threshold here the Hose should be looking good.
