Prairie View A&M Panthers Betting Preview
Prairie View A&M already has two games in the bag this week; they’ve been busy. The Panthers took on the College of Biblical Studies in their opener on Monday and didn’t have too many issues. After a 48-31 halftime edge Prairie View hit a 47-17 run on the way to a 95-48 victory at home. Tops in scoring was Tai’Reon Joseph with 26 points and seven boards, while Marcel Bryant added 17 points with five rebounds in just 17 minutes of action during the win. Cory Wells chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds as well.
In game two versus the University of Dallas on Wednesday, Prairie View A&M was able to keep it going with another strong victory. The Panthers were up 43-24 by the break, then cruised on a 51-29 advantage during a 94-53 win in the end. Joseph led the way on 20 points in 22 minutes this time, and Dontae Horne had 17 points in 31 minutes. Wells added 14 points with five rebounds, and Keeshawn Mason managed 12 points with nine rebounds in the win.
Wichita State Shockers Betting Preview
Over on the Wichita State side, they made some improvements in the record column last year, advancing by four games over the 2023-24 campaign. The Shockers would end up going 19-15 overall with an 8-10 record in the American Athletic Conference. That would give Wichita State a finish ahead of South Florida, Tulsa, UTSA, Rice and Charlotte—near the middle of the pack. The Shockers beat USF in the first game of the AAC Tournament, but then lost to Memphis in the second outing. After a berth in the NIT, the Shockers’ season came to a close on March 18 with a loss to Oklahoma State 89-79.
In their first game of the season on Tuesday versus UNC Asheville, the Shockers held a modest four-point lead at the break. Wichita State got better from there on a 41-28 run however, and took the win 75-58. Tops in scoring was Kenyon Giles with 20 points and two rebounds. Karon Boyd doubled up with 11 points and 10 boards, while Dre Kindell added 11 points with five assists and two rebounds in 25 minutes of action in the victory effort.

Prairie View A&M vs Wichita State Prediction
I’ll take a stab on Prairie View here. That said, the Panthers’ first two games were relative cakewalks compared to what they’re in store for Saturday. Prairie View blitzed the University of Dallas in their latest matchup, hitting 54.8 percent from the field with a 32-23 rebounding edge and a 48-28 advantage in points in the paint. The Panthers capped it off with 14 steals and just eight turnovers in a nice ball-control game.
As for Wichita State, they started pretty slowly in their opener versus UNC Asheville but really got it going in the second half. The 3-point shooting (25 percent on 4-of-16) and turnovers (14) were just about the only rough spots statistically in the 17-point victory. This is another winnable game for the Shockers, so you wouldn’t be crazy thinking that they’ll run away with this one. I like the Panthers to stay confident and cover, though.
