West Virginia Mountaineers Betting Preview
Over on the West Virginia side, they’ve got three games in the bag so far. WVU hosted Mount St. Mary’s in their opening matchup last Tuesday. West Virginia held a modest 35-29 edge at the break, then hit a 35-25 advantage from there to power out a 70-54 victory in the end. Leading the way in scoring was Jasper Floyd with 25 points and four assists, while Honor Huff had 16 points in 38 minutes of work during the victory. Bremen Lorient had a nice game as well with a double-double on 11 points, 13 rebounds and one assist in 35 minutes of action on the court.
Matched up against Campbell in their second outing on Thursday, the Mountaineers again had a fairly modest 33-25 edge at halftime. WVU kept the pace from there on a 40-40 run in the second half and took the home win 73-65. Huff led the way this time with 23 points, two rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes. Lorient (nine rebounds; four assists), Harlan Obioha (six rebounds) and Treysen Eaglestaff (six rebounds) each had 12 points in the victory effort as well.
In game three versus Lehigh, the Mountaineers had a much easier time. WVU jumped out to a 42-20 halftime edge and cruised from there on a 27-27 run for a 69-47 win. Leading the scoring was Brenen Lorient with 26 points and seven rebounds while Harlan Obioha had 12 points with eight rebounds and three assists in the winning effort for the Mountaineers.

Pittsburgh vs West Virginia Prediction
I’ll lean toward Pittsburgh, but you could call it either way. We should have a fun matchup on our hands here. In any case, the Panthers did a solid job versus Eastern Michigan in their last outing despite hitting just 12-of-23 (52.2 percent) from the free throw line. Otherwise Pitt shot 50 percent from the field with 36 rebounds, 44 points in the paint and just seven turnovers. Through three games so far, the Panthers have notched 74 or more points in each. If they can keep that run going, Pitt will have a great shot at a potential cover here. West Virginia isn’t scoring too badly themselves, so we could have a pretty decent total.
