Pitt was able to win their first three games this year, then took losses to West Virginia, UCF and Quinnipiac over the next five games. After losses to Texas A&M, Hofstra and Villanova, the Panthers beat Binghamton and Penn State before three more losses in succession versus Miami, Clemson and Syracuse. Over 16 games so far that gives the Panthers a 7-9 record in the books.
In the Saturday matchup with Syracuse the Panthers kicked off the first half with a 48-37 deficit. Pittsburgh kept the pace from there on a 35-35 run but still ended up with the loss 83-72. Brandin Cummings did most of the work on 29 points with three assists and one rebound. Roman Siulepa added 13 points with eight rebounds over 23 minutes of action in the loss as well.

Pittsburgh vs Georgia Tech Prediction
I’ll stick with Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 10-point road loss to a very good Miami team, giving up 51.7 percent shooting from the field with 13 turnovers. Georgia Tech shot 45.6 percent from the floor themselves with 85.2 percent (23-of-27) from the line and a modest 31-30 rebounding edge. That makes three losses in the last four games for the Yellow Jackets, who have given up 82 or more points in each of those defeats.
As for Pitt, they couldn’t hang with Syracuse in a home loss last weekend thanks to just 5-of-26 (19.2 percent) from 3-point range and 55.8 percent shooting allowed on defense. The Panthers did have a 40-32 edge on points in the paint however, and a 29-26 advantage in rebounding. Pittsburgh has lost three straight themselves, giving up 73 or more points in all three of those.
