Fresno State Bulldogs Betting Preview
The Bulldogs have a couple of blemishes on the card so far through seven games. That said they’re not playing too badly overall. Fresno State beat Fresno Pacific and Long Beach State in their first four games, with losses otherwise in that time versus USC Upstate and UC San Diego. The Bulldogs have since won three straight games though, taking out Utah Valley, Stephen F Austin and New Orleans in succession for a 5-2 run through their first seven outings so far this year.
In the New Orleans game back on Friday, Fresno State entered the second half with a 41-37 edge. The Bulldogs hit a 44-39 run the rest of the way in an 85-76 win. Jake Heidbreder was tops on the team with 33 points and five rebounds while Zaon Collins doubled up on 14 points with 10 rebounds and five assists. DeShawn Gory added 11 points with three rebounds and two assists in the winning effort for the Bulldogs.
Pepperdine Waves Betting Preview
Over on the Waves’ side, they’ve been alternating wins with losses across a half-dozen games so far this season. Pepperdine beat Life Pacific in the opener, then fell to UCLA in game two. Game three was a win over Lincoln University CA, then came another loss (in OT) versus Northern Colorado. After a win over New Orleans, the Waves fell versus Stephen F Austin in game six, giving Pepperdine a .500 run across the first half-dozen games of the year.
In Friday’s matchup versus Stephen F Austin, the Waves came out of the break looking at a 32-24 advantage on the scoreboard. Pepperdine lost the handle in the second on a 39-28 deficit and fell 63-60 in a tough result by game’s end. Topping the scorers was Aaron Clark with 30 points and three boards. The only other Waves player in double-digits during the losing effort was Danilo Dozic with 11 points, four boards and two assists in 38 minutes of action.

Fresno State vs Pepperdine Prediction
I’ll stick with Fresno State, but you could probably call this one either way. The Bulldogs were able to stay on top of a middling New Orleans team in their last outing, eventually shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 22-of-28 (78.6 percent) from the line. Fresno State had issues up front though, getting out-rebounded 37-33 and notching a 38-36 deficit in the paint. The Bulldogs have scored pretty well so far; they’ve got 73 or more points in all but one game this season.
As for Pepperdine, they couldn’t keep pace with a pretty good Stephen F Austin squad in the second half of their most recent appearance. The Waves shot a tepid 40 percent from the field and had 15 turnovers while getting outmuscled on the boards 32-25 and in the paint 28-18. Prior to that 60-point finish, the Waves had 81 or more points in four of five games. Pepperdine should score a lot better in Wednesday’s matchup.
