Oregon Ducks Betting Preview

It’s been a nice run for Oregon so far with five straight wins—four by double-digits. The Ducks opened up their season with victories over UC Riverside, Montana, Portland, and Troy, then eked past Oregon State in their latest outing.

In the matchup with the Beavers back on Thursday, the Ducks were in trouble with a 47-37 deficit by the break. Oregon surged on a 41-28 second half, however, powering out the win 78-75. Leading team scorer Nate Bittle doubled on 23 points and 14 boards. Oregon will meet San Diego State, USC, UCLA, Stephen F. Austin, and Stanford after this game.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

Over on the Texas A&M side, they took an upset loss to UCF in their opener matchup 64-61. Since then the Aggies have been on a winning streak however, dispatching East Texas A&M, Lamar, Ohio State, and Southern U in their last four.

Matched up against Southern U last Wednesday, the Aggies came out of the break with a 39-25 deficit. Texas A&M demolished the Jaguars 46-15 in the second half though, and won 71-54. Wade Taylor topped the team with 17 points and six assists.

Oregon vs Texas A&M Prediction

I’ll lean toward Oregon. This should be a pretty fun matchup regardless, though. The Ducks are coming off a nice comeback win over Oregon State after getting through a fairly listless first half. Oregon ended up shooting 49.2 percent from the floor with 21 team assists, but did get outmuscled on the boards 38-30 (17-7 offensive). That makes 78 or more points in all five games for the Ducks.

As for Texas A&M, they started very slowly against a struggling Southern U team in their last game. The Aggies shot a cold 37.7 percent from the field in that one, with 19.2 percent (5-of-26) from 3-point range and 53.8 percent (14-of-26) from the line. The 55-31 rebounding edge (29-10 offensive) was their saving grace. If Texas A&M can’t find a shooting rhythm early, they’re going to need to hit the boards just as hard against Oregon. I like the Ducks to hit a cover pace on the scoreboard (and maybe even win) in an entertaining matchup, though.
