I’ll lean toward Old Dominion. The Monarchs couldn’t quite keep pace with a good Marshall team this week though, despite shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 90 percent (18-of-20) from the line alongside a 52-44 advantage in the paint and just eight turnovers. The main issue was the 59.7 percent shooting allowed on defense. ODU has lost consecutive games now, giving up a combined 183 points in that pair.
Back on Valentine’s Day when these teams last met, the Monarchs were able to secure a 78-55 victory at home. In that one Old Dominion shot a very nice 54.5 percent from the field while holding the Panthers to just 25.8 percent shooting on defense. The Monarchs added a 42-30 rebounding advantage and a 38-16 edge on the boards. This road rematch may not be so lopsided but I still like ODU.
