North Texas vs Santa Clara Prediction
I’ll stay with Santa Clara. The Broncos had a miserable second half against Arizona State in their last game and ended up surrendering 54.7 percent shooting on defense. Santa Clara also got out-rebounded 29-21 and had 14 of the game’s 30 turnovers. The good news is that the Broncos were solid from the line (14-of-17 for 82.4 percent) and had a decent showing in the paint. Santa Clara has scored well this year overall with 70 or more points in all but one game (64 in a win over Idaho State being the outlier).
As for North Texas, they eked one out versus South Alabama in their last outing despite shooting just 33.9 percent from the field and 9-of-40 (22.5 percent) from outside. The Green had a 34-18 deficit in the paint as well, but also notched a 31-26 advantage on the boards. North Texas has just 113 combined points in their last two games (a 1-1 run) so they’ll have to hit the gas offensively in order to keep up in this one.
