Here’s a North Dakota vs South Dakota prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best North Dakota vs South Dakota pick. We will examine the recent form and player performances for both teams, as well as the recent betting trends and streaks pertaining to this matchup. As we conclude, we will tie it all together with a summary that produces a sensible pick for a favorable betting outcome in this game.
North Dakota Fighting Hawks Betting Preview
The Fighting Hawks kicked off the season on a pretty rough 5-10 overall run, but they’ve looked better since then. North Dakota eat Dakota State, Oral Roberts, South Dakota State, Kansas City, South Dakota, Oral Roberts, Denver, St. Thomas-MN and Omaha over a 9-3 stretch in the 12 games since. Over 27 games that gives the Hawks a 14-13 overall record so far.
In the Denver matchup over the weekend, the Fighting Hawks were in trouble on a 43-27 deficit by the break. North Dakota didn’t get any better from there on a 55-52 second half and ended up taking the loss at home 98-79 in the end. Greyson Uelmen led the team on 24 points with two rebounds and Marley Curtis had 14 points with three rebounds in 15 minutes of work.
South Dakota Coyotes Betting Preview
Over on the South Dakota side, they were below the .500 mark over their first 17 games at 8-9. The Coyotes have managed to win six of the last nine games however, taking out Denver, Kansas City, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Kansas City again and South Dakota State in that time with losses to North Dakota, St. Thomas-MN and North Dakota State otherwise. That makes for a 14-12 record this year.
In the South Dakota State game on Saturday the Coyotes were sitting in the locker room with a 43-32 edge at the break. Things got interesting in the second half as South Dakota put up a 35-25 deficit but still managed to hang on for the tight road win 68-67 in the end. Jordan Crawford put up 19 points in 40 minutes and Cameron Fens doubled up on 14 points with 12 boards.

North Dakota vs South Dakota Prediction
I’ll lean toward South Dakota but this should be a fun matchup. The Coyotes are coming off a tense win on the road versus South Dakota State, hitting a tepid 41.7 percent from the field and 8-of-13 (61.5 percent) at the line. South Dakota was competitive on the boards and in the paint however, as well as posting just nine turnovers. That gives the Coyotes three wins in the last four games, with just one overtime loss to North Dakota State in there.
These teams last met up on January 17 in a 96-80 road loss for the Coyotes. South Dakota shot well in that one (47.2 percent) but also gave up 54.8 percent on the other side—not to mention the 13 turnovers and 50-28 deficit on points in the paint. I like the Coyotes to get some revenge in the home rematch but it’ll be a good game.
