NC Central Eagles Betting Preview

This year the Eagles opened up the season on a spotty 7-12 overall run across their first 19 games. After that came a 3-4 run in the next seven outings. The wins in that time were over Maryland Eastern Shore, Delaware State and Morgan State. The losses otherwise came versus Norfolk State, Coppin State, South Carolina State and Howard for a 10-16 run through 26 games.
On Saturday in game 27 versus Delaware State, the Eagles were down by six points heading into the second half 33-27. NC Central roared back on a 47-27 run in the second half though, leading to a 74-60 victory on the road in the end. Leading the team in scoring were Kelechi Okworogwo with 15 points and 10 boards, and Kyric Davis with 15 points and five rebounds with three steals.

Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks Betting Preview

Over on the Maryland Eastern Shore side, they limped to a 4-13 run in their first 17 games. Wins over Morgan State, Howard, Norfolk State and Coppin State came next, then more losses to Delaware State, NC Central, South Carolina State, Morgan State, Howard, Norfolk State and Coppin State in the next seven. Over the first 28 games that made for an 8-20 record.

Matched up against South Carolina State last weekend, the Hawks were up by three points at the half 25-22. Maryland Eastern Shore continued on a 44-35 run and took the win in the end on their home court 69-57. Leading the team in scoring was Dorian Staples with 15 points, two rebounds and two assists. NC Central vs MD Eastern Shore Prediction

I’ll lean toward NC Central but I’m staying away. The Eagles started slowly in a road win over a struggling Delaware State team this week but it all worked out in the end. NC Central hit 49.1 percent from the field in that one with 21 points off 16 Hornets turnovers. The Eagles are still a shaky 3-4 in their last seven games though, so it’d be nice to see a good effort here.

Back on February 2 when these teams last met, the Eagles secured a 65-63 victory at home. In that one NC Central shot a nice 48 percent from the field with a 28-26 advantage on points in the paint. That said, the Eagles gave up 49 percent shooting on defense with 11 turnovers and a 32-21 rebounding deficit. NC Central has a lot to clean up for the road rematch. This one could go either way.

Andrew Jett's Pick: NC Central Eagles +1.5
