North Alabama vs UC Davis Prediction
North Alabama lost a lot of production from last season and doesn’t bring in enough talent to offset that. UC Davis brings back a good chunk of its core from a year ago and should be eager to make a statement to its new conference. UC Davis is a solid team that can make news in the MWC. As I said before, I wouldn’t sleep on the Aggies. North Alabama just doesn’t have the horses to scare UC Davis. I’m fairly high on this group and will be watching closely, especially once conference play begins. I’ll lay the points.
North Alabama Lions Betting Preview
North Alabama won 9 games last season and enters year nine under coach Tony Pujol. North Alabama is still looking for its first NCAA tournament bid in school history.
Braylon Patton returns after averaging 5.6 points and 1.8 rebounds, while Cortez Graham-Howard averaged 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds. Those are the only two returning players for North Alabama, a team that says goodbye to its top five scorers from last season. Coming off a disappointing campaign, North Alabama aims to rebound with added size, experience, and depth. With a rough schedule to start, North Alabama will take its licks before conference play.
UC Davis Betting Preview
UC Davis won 19 games last season and enters year 16 under coach Jim Les. UC Davis hasn’t made the big dance since the 2016-17 season.
Connor Sevilla returns after averaging 13.3 points and 1.7 rebounds, while Isaiah Chappell averaged 8.5 points and 4.6 rebounds. Brayden Fagbemi averaged 4.3 assists per game, and Omer Suljanovic played in 470 minutes last season. UC Davis brings back its top player in Sevilla and a strong core overall that includes seven key players. Now, the MWC is obviously a step up in competition compared to the Big West, but this is a talented and experienced roster that should lead to success right away. Don’t sleep on the Aggies.
