North Alabama Lions Betting Preview

North Alabama was able to stay with Mississippi State in the first half of their opener this year but faltered from there in an 86-62 loss. The Lions’ Canin Jefferson led the team with 16 points in the losing effort. Game two was North Alabama’s first win this year, as they took it 90-84 versus Lane. In game three versus Northwestern State, the Lions eked out another one, this time 87-83 following a 10-6 run in overtime. Corneilous Williams (28 points; 16 rebounds) and Donte Bacchus (16 points; 14 rebounds) each posted double-doubles in the victory.

In Saturday’s matchup versus East Tennessee State, the Lions were looking good on a 46-31 first-half advantage. North Alabama was demolished in the second half 47-28 however, and lost the game 78-74 in the end. Tops in scoring were Donte Bacchus (six rebounds) and Dallas Howell (four rebounds; four assists), each with 19 points.

Clemson Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Clemson side, they opened up the year versus New Hampshire and hit a 43-16 advantage by halftime. Clemson notched a 45-22 run the rest of the way and won it 88-38. Leading the way was Ace Buckner with 18 points, three rebounds and two assists in 20 minutes of action. Jake Wahlin added 11 points with four rebounds in 17 minutes for the Tigers, and both Carter Welling and Nick Davidson had 10 points with five rebounds each. Clemson got an easy win over Gardner-Webb in game two as well. The Tigers took a 45-30 edge into the break and rolled on a 52-29 run from there for a 97-59 blowout. North Alabama vs Clemson Prediction

I’ll lean toward Clemson. The Tigers need a good bounce-back performance after their loss to Georgetown on Saturday, and this is a good place to get it. Clemson rebounded pretty well with a 33-29 edge but also missed six of their 20 free throws (70 percent) and allowed 45.3 percent shooting on the other side. It was a close game but could have gone much better. The Tigers have scored 74 or more points in all four games thus far though, so that’s a good sign.

As for North Alabama, they had an awful second half versus East Tennessee State on Saturday. The Lions had 14 turnovers and got outscored 36-28 in the paint but otherwise didn’t look bad statistically. This matchup’s not going to get any easier, though. I like Clemson in Monday’s game.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Clemson Tigers -24.5
