Niagara Purple Eagles Betting Preview
The Eagles opened up the year on a pretty rough run. Niagara lost to Duquesne in their opener, then rattled off a pair of wins over Binghamton and Delaware State. The next four games were all losses though, as the Purple Eagles fell versus Le Moyne, Duke, Howard and Detroit in succession. Across seven games in the first month of the season, the Purple Eagles finished with a 2-5 overall record.
On Friday in the Siena game, the Eagles lost in a blowout 83-54 at MVP Arena. Leading Niagara in scoring during the defeat was Reggie Prudhomme, the only team player to finish in double-digits with 10 options and two assists in 27 minutes of work. The Eagles got seven points off the bench from both Landon Williams (two rebounds) and Josiah Sabino (four rebounds) as well.
Saint Peter’s Peacocks Betting Preview
Over on the Saint Peter’s side, they struggled through their first month of the year as well. The Peacocks opened the season on a 1-3 stretch with a lone win over Fairleigh Dickinson among losses otherwise versus Seton Hall, VCU and Delaware during that quartet of outings. Following a second win over UMass Lowell, Saint Peter’s lost the next game versus Dartmouth in blowout fashion. In a half-dozen matchups throughout the month of November, Saint Peter’s was only able to notch a 2-4 record overall.
Matched up against Canisius on Friday, the Peacocks powered out a 69-57 win at Yanitelli Center. Leading the way among starters was Bryce Eagon with 14 points and four assists. Brent Bland added 12 points with eight boards and four steals, while TJ Robinson came off the bench for 14 points and one rebound with a nice 7-of-7 effort from the line in the win for the Peacocks.

Niagara vs Saint Peter’s Prediction
I’ll stick with the Peacocks but I’m probably not touching it. There’s not a whole lot to get excited about here if you’re not a fan of either team, but it should be a competitive game if both teams play well. Saint Peter’s shot a tepid 38 percent from the field and 6-of-25 (24 percent) from outside in their latest win over Canisius, but did hit 21-of-26 (81 percent) from the line in a nice effort there. The Peacocks had a slight edge in the paint 24-22 but also got outmuscled on the boards 41-38. Saint Peter’s has been below 70 points in three straight games but they’ve managed to win two of those.
As for Niagara, they shot just 37 percent from the field and 18 percent (4-of-22) from 3-point range in their loss to Siena, along with just 6-of-11 (55 percent) from the line. The 43-26 rebounding deficit didn’t help either. The Eagles haven’t scored more than 70 points in any game yet this year, so they’ll want to keep the total low in this one.
