It’s been a 2-2 run since then for the Mountaineers, with wins over Howard and Loyola Maryland bookended around losses to Sacred Heart and Marist. Last weekend versus Loyola MD, the Mountaineers held a one-point edge at the break. Mount St. Mary’s posted a 43-36 the rest of the way leading to an 81-73 win. Both Xavier Lipscomb and Arlandus Keyes posted a team-high 16 points apiece, combining for eight boards and eight assists. Mount St. Mary’s vs Drexel Prediction
I’ll lean toward Drexel I guess. Probably staying away, though. The Dragons started slowly versus a decent Howard team in their last outing, and ended up getting out-rebounded 35-20 with 14 turnovers and a 32-18 deficit in the paint. Drexel missed a few free throws (12-of-19 for 63.2 percent) and had 43.1 percent shooting themselves. The Dragons have now lost three straight and they’ve scored just 130 combined points in the last pair.
As for Mount St. Mary’s, they put up a pretty good effort versus a struggling Loyola MD team in their last game, eventually shooting 51.9 percent from the field with a 38-26 rebounding edge. The Mountaineers did cough up 17 turnovers in a sloppy game, though. Mount St. Mary’s has 79 or more points in three of the last four games (a 2-2 run), so we could have a high total here if all goes well for both teams shooting-wise.
