Morehead State Eagles Betting Preview
It’s been a rough season for the Eagles so far. Morehead State began with a win over Midway U in their first outing, then lost to Wake Forest, Georgia and Clemson in the next trio. A 2-1 run came next with a loss to East Tennessee State in between wins over Kentucky Christian and LA Monroe, but since then the Eagles have lost consecutive games. Those defeats have come courtesy of IUPUI and Murray State, giving Morehead State a 3-6 record through their first nine outings this year so far.
In the Murray State game on Tuesday, the Eagles came into the second half with a 33-28 deficit. Morehead State was blitzed 51-24 the rest of the way, resulting in an 84-52 blowout loss. Tops in scoring was Davion Cunningham, the only player on the team to finish in double-digits with 10 points, four rebounds and one assist. Anouar Mellouk chipped in with nine points and three rebounds as well.
Presbyterian Blue Hose Betting Preview
Over on the Hose’s side, they had a .500 run through the first month of the season. Presbyterian lost to Navy in the opener, then beat Bluefield U, East Tennessee State and Georgia State from there. After a losing streak versus South Carolina, Sac State, Cal and UCLA in the next four games in succession, the Blue Hose beat Columbia International and the Citadel in the next pair. That would give the Hose a 5-5 run over their first 10 games of the year.
On Wednesday versus Wofford, the Blue Hose put up a 63-56 loss at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Presbyterian was led by Jonah Pierce with 19 points and 14 rebounds in the losing effort, and Chidi Chiakwelu came off the bench for 12 points and 10 rebounds on a double-double. Also in double-digits was Carl Parrish with 11 points and two assists.

Morehead State vs Presbyterian Prediction
I’ll lean toward Presbyterian I suppose. I’m also probably not touching this one. The Blue Hose posted a pretty miserable road loss to Wofford in their last outing, shooting 38 percent from the field and 10-of-16 (63 percent) from the line alongside 12 turnovers. The good news is that Presbyterian had a 46-41 rebounding advantage and a 32-20 run in the paint. That gives the Hose fewer than 70 points in all but two games so far this season.
As for Morehead State, they got demolished by Murray State in their last outing thanks to a rough second half. The Eagles ended up shooting a rough 37.3 percent from the field and 25 percent (3-of-12) from outside along with a 45-28 rebounding disadvantage. Morehead State had scored a combined 163 points over their previous two games (a 1-1 run) so the 52 points were quite the disappointment. The Eagles will likely be a little more competitive here.
