Monmouth Hawks Betting Preview
It’s been a tough run for the Hawks so far—to put it mildly. Monmouth lost their first eight games of the 2024-25 season, dropping to Michigan State, Temple, Northern Illinois, Rutgers, Wichita State, Youngstown State, Stephen F. Austin, and Presbyterian in succession during that time. Monmouth would go 3-3 over the next six outings, beating Seton Hall, Fairfield, and Stony Brook with losses otherwise versus Lehigh, Princeton, and Auburn. Following losses to Delaware and UNC Wilmington in consecutive outings, Monmouth took another win over Charleston for a 4-13 record through their first 17 games of the season.
In their Thursday matchup with North Carolina A&T, the Hawks held a 45-36 halftime edge. Monmouth kept the pace in the second half on a 27-27 run and took the eventual win 72-63. Leading the team in scoring was Abdi Bashir with 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Madison Durr added 16 points with six rebounds and two steals, while Jaret Valencia chipped in 11 points, five boards, two blocks and two assists in 25 minutes of work on the court.
Campbell Camels Betting Preview
Over on the Camels’ side, they haven’t fared a whole lot better this year; it’s been quite the choppy run. Campbell went 3-2 in their first five games with wins over Pfeiffer, Newberry, and Navy among losses to Virginia and St. Francis PA. An inverted 2-3 stretch came next with losses to Ohio State, Evansville, and Coastal Carolina alongside wins over Green Bay and the Citadel. Campbell hit a 2-5 record over their ensuing seven outings, beating only Drexel and Hampton among losses otherwise versus Morgan State, Longwood, North Carolina, UNC Wilmington, and Elon in that time for a 7-10 record through 17 outings.
Matched up against Charleston on Thursday, the Camels were only behind by three points 33-30 by the break. In the second half, however, Campbell couldn’t make up any ground on a 34-31 run and eventually took the loss 67-61 in the end. Colby Duggan led the team in scoring with 21 points, six rebounds, and four assists in the defeat. Jasin Sinani added 14 points with three rebounds and two assists, while Cam Gregory had 10 points with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 28 minutes of action.

- Monmouth has won three of its last four day games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
Monmouth vs Campbell Prediction
I’ll lean toward Monmouth. There’s not a lot to get excited about here if you’re not a fan of either team, though. The Hawks played pretty well on defense against a struggling North Carolina A&T squad in their latest win, holding the Aggies to just 32.8 percent from the field and 6-of-26 (23.1 percent) from 3-point range. Monmouth didn’t shoot all that great (41.7 percent) themselves though, hitting just 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) from outside. Still, that makes a combined 156 points in consecutive wins for Monmouth, who will try to make it an official winning streak on Saturday.
As for Campbell, they’ve failed to hit 70 points in five straight games now (a 2-3 span) so it’s tough to imagine them posting a huge total here. If Monmouth can keep the scoring going with a better performance from outside this time, I think the Hawks have it.
