The problems were the 16 turnovers, and to a slightly lesser extent the 63.2 percent (12-of-19) from the line. MS Valley State badly needs another win, but this is a good place to get it.
As for Texas Southern, they shot a tepid 40.7 percent from the field with 14.3 percent (2-of-14) from outside in their loss to Arkansas-Pine Bluff while coughing up 11 turnovers along the way. The Tigers have lost three straight games now, giving up 74 or more points in each of those defeats.
