Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils Betting Preview
It’s been a tough run for the Delta Devils so far this year. Mississippi Valley State has just one win over Mississippi University for Women. Otherwise it’s been a string of six losses. Those defeats have come courtesy of UAB, Murray State, Hawaii, Utah Tech, Manhattan and Cal State Bakersfield in succession. That gives the Delta Devils a rough 1-6 record through seven games so far.
In their latest outing versus Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday, the Delta Devils were down 39-22 by the end of the first half. MS Valley State kept the pace from there on a 48-47 advantage but still lost handily 86-70 in the end. Leading scorer Daniel Mayfield doubled on 22 points and 10 boards while Michael James added 20 points and two assists in the losing effort for Mississippi Valley State.

Over on the Aggies’ side, they opened up with a couple of victories over Northwestern State and Texas Southern. Texas A&M followed those games up with two losses versus Oklahoma State and UCF. Since then however, it’s been consecutive wins over Montana and Manhattan for the Aggies. That gives the team a 4-2 record across their first six games of the year.
In Friday’s matchup with Manhattan, the Aggies jumped out to a 55-27 halftime lead. Texas A&M didn’t have any issues from there, rolling to a blowout win 109-68 in the end. Ruben Dominguez topped the scorers with 30 points, five boards and two assists. Rylan Griffen added 17 points with six assists, and Rashaun Agee had 10 rebounds with nine points and three assists in the winning effort.

Mississippi Valley State vs Texas A&M Prediction
I’ll probably just stick with Texas A&M but realistically I’m not touching this one. By all indications the only question here is the margin of victory for the Aggies. Texas A&M didn’t have any issues with Manhattan in their last outing, posting 58.2 percent shooting from the field, 18-of-37 (48.6 percent) from outside and a 35-22 rebounding edge. The Aggies held a 40-26 advantage on points in the paint and had just eight turnovers in the blowout win. That makes a combined 195 points across the last two games for Texas A&M.
As for MS Valley State, they didn’t shoot too badly (43.1 percent) from the field in the loss to CSUB, but made just two of 10 from outside and got outmuscled on the boards 41-32. The Delta Devils just don’t have the firepower to keep any kind of pace with Texas A&M. This one looks like another blowout on paper at least.
