Minnesota Golden Gophers Betting Preview
This year the Gophers managed a 5-5 start, but then hit a nice five-game win streak in December and January. Minnesota would hit the skids on a rough 1-8 stretch over the next nine. The losses in that time came versus USC, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Penn State and Maryland. Over the first 24 games that gives the Gophers an 11-13 run.
In the Maryland matchup back on Sunday the Golden Gophers fell just short on a 67-62 loss at home. Minnesota’s Isaac Asuma was the leading team scorer with 18 points, four assists and three rebounds with three steals in 39 minutes. Cade Tyson added 12 points with three rebounds and one steal, while Langston Reynolds put up 11 points with five assists and six rebounds.
Washington Huskies Betting Preview
Over on the Washington side, they opened up the season on a decent 9-4 record over their first 13 outings. Washington would fall versus Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State and Nebraska in the next half-dozen, then went 2-2 run over the next four. The wins in that time were over Oregon and Northwestern; the losses came to Illinois and Iowa. After a loss to UCLA, Washington was 12-12 through 24 games.
In game 25 on Wednesday versus Penn State, the Huskies were down by a 35-32 margin going into the second half. Washington managed to keep the pace from there on a 28-28 run but eventually lost the game on their home court 63-60 in a tough result. Tops in scoring was Hannes Steinbach with a double-double on 19 points with 14 rebounds and two assists.

Minnesota vs Washington Prediction
I’ll lean toward Washington but I’m probably not touching hit. The Huskies didn’t play great at home in a loss to a middling Penn State team this week, shooting just 37.7 percent from the field and 57.1 percent (8-of-14) at the line. Washington added 12 turnovers and 48.1 percent shooting allowed on defense during the defeat. The Huskies have lost three straight games now, giving up 77 or more points in two of them.
As for Minnesota, they shot okay versus Maryland (43 percent) but also gave up 50 percent on the other side. The Gophers were out-rebounded 31-28 and outscored in the paint 28-10 along the way while hitting just 57 percent (8-of-14) from the free throw line. Minnesota has just one win (granted, over a very good Michigan State) since January 6 but they’ve at least been competitive.
