Over on the Michigan side, they started out the season with wins in 14 straight games before their first loss to Wisconsin on January 10. Over the first 26 games that gave the Wolverines a 25-1 run.
Back on Saturday versus Duke, the Wolverines were trailing by two points 35-33 going into the second half. Michigan didn’t end up getting any closer than that, finishing off the game on a 33-30 disadvantage on the way to a tough road loss 68-63. Yaxel Lendeborg was tops on 21 points with seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Morez Johnson added 13 points with six boards as well.

I’ll stick with Michigan. The Wolverines need a good bounce-back effort after a tough road loss to Duke over the weekend, and this is a solid place to get it. In the loss to the Blue Devils, Michigan shot just 40 percent from the field with a 37-25 rebounding deficit and a 34-24 disadvantage on points in the paint. Michigan finished the game with just 63 points—their lowest total of the season so far.
As for Minnesota, they took care of a struggling Rutgers team in a home win this past weekend. The Gophers shot a nice 60 percent from the field and 57.7 percent (15-of-26) from outside in that one, adding a 29-20 rebounding advantage along the way. Minnesota has won consecutive games and they’re now 3-2 in their last five outings. The Gophers will have their hands full on the road against an angry Michigan team here, though.
