More Johnson chipped in 10 rebounds and seven points for Michigan in the winning effort as well.
Maryland Terrapins Betting Preview
Over on the Maryland side, they only lost one of their first six outings, dropping to Georgetown by 10 in game two. The Terrapins otherwise beat Coppin State, Alcorn State, Marquette, Mount St. Mary’s and UNLV in that time. Since then it’s been a 1-3 run for Maryland however, as they’ve fallen to Gonzaga, Alabama and Iowa amid a lone win over Wagner. That gives the Terrapins a 6-4 run through their first 10 outings this season.
Matched up against Iowa last weekend, the Terrapins came into the second half with a 44-30 deficit. Maryland was outscored 39-34 the rest of the way in an 83-64 loss. Pharrel Payne set the pace with 17 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double. David Coit had 13 points with two boards, and Andre Mills chipped in with 11 points and three rebounds.

I’ll stick with Michigan I suppose. The Wolverines haven’t showed too many signs of weakness so far this year, and they’re coming off another dominant win over Villanova. Michigan shot 47.8 percent from the field with a 47-30 rebounding edge and a 46-10 advantage in the paint. It wasn’t perfect though, as the Wolverines missed 11 free throws (14-of-25 for 56 percent) and had 12 turnovers in the blowout win. Michigan has posted 86 or more points in six straight games now, with 101 or more in half of those.
As for Maryland, they were blitzed by a good Iowa team at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in their latest outing, posting just 36.2 percent from the field and 18 turnovers in a 19-point defeat. The Terrapins had scored 72 or more points in six of their previous seven outings though, and they’ll need to get back to those heights if they want to hang around with Michigan here.
