The Cowboys managed a pretty nice 10-3 start to the year, then beat Lamar, Stephen F. Austin, SE Louisiana and Nicholls before a loss to UTRGV. McNeese State hit a 6-1 run in the next seven games, beating Texas A&M-CC, New Orleans, SE Louisiana, Lamar, Incarnate Word and Houston Christian in that time. In the Houston Christian matchup on Monday, the Cowboys entered the second half sporting a 37-33 advantage. McNeese State kept the pace from there on a 36-36 run and ended up taking the victory on their home floor 73-69 as the game concluded. Over on the East Texas A&M side, they limped to a 6-10 start over their first 16 outings. Next came a 2-2 run with wins over UTRGV and Incarnate Word, then three straight losses to Lamar, Nicholls and New Orleans. After two wins over Northwestern State came another loss versus Stephen F. McNeese vs East Texas A&M Prediction

I’ll just stay with McNeese. The Cowboys did a pretty good job against Houston Christian in their last game, hitting 53.7 percent from the field with a 46-22 advantage on points in the paint. McNeese added 10 steals off 12 Huskies turnovers and had a competitive outing on the boards as well. The Cowboys have won six of their last seven games, and they’ve scored a combined 154 points in their last two.

These teams last saw each other way back on December 12 in a 102-66 blowout win at home for the Cowboys. In that one McNeese shot an excellent 55.6 percent from the field and 54.2 percent (13-of-24) from outside along with a 38-25 rebounding advantage and 42 points in the paint. The turnovers (15) got a little out of hand, but with some adjustments in the road rematch the Cowboys should be just fine.

Andrew Jett's Pick: McNeese State Cowboys -12.5
