McNeese State Cowboys Betting Preview
The Cowboys got off to a middling start in their first 10 games of the season. To their credit, however, McNeese has cleaned up their act since late December. In a 5-5 opening run, the Cowboys fell to South Dakota State, Alabama, Liberty, Santa Clara and Mississippi State with wins over College of Biblical Studies, North Texas, Illinois State, Longwood, and LeTourneau otherwise. Wins over Louisiana, New Orleans, SE Louisiana, East Texas A&M, Northwestern State, Nicholls, Houston Christian, Lamar and Stephen F. Austin came in succession over the next nine outings, giving McNeese a solid 14-5 overall record though 19 games this year.
In the UT Rio Grande Valley game over the weekend, the Cowboys had a comfortable lead 40-26 by halftime. McNeese State hit a 53-37 run the rest of the way and cruised to the blowout victory 93-63 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Quadir Copeland with 21 points, eight assists, three rebounds, and three steals. Christian Shumate doubled up with 12 points and 10 boards, as did Joe Charles on 11 points and 10 rebounds with three assists.
Texas A&M-CC Islanders Betting Preview
Over on the Islanders’ side, they managed a middling run as well in the early days of the season. Texas A&M likewise has cleaned up their act since late last calendar year, though. The Isles went 7-6 in their first 13 outings, taking victories courtesy of Dallas Christian, Tennessee Martin, Le Moyne, Texas Lutheran, Prairie View A&M, Stephen F. Austin, and Southwestern Adventist. A win streak came in the next six games versus Schreiner, SE Louisiana, New Orleans, UT Rio Grande Valley, Northwestern State, and Incarnate Word, then the Islanders lost to Houston Christian. Texas A&M-CC completed 20 games with a 13-7 overall record.
On Saturday in the matchup with Nicholls, the Islanders were up 26-18 by halftime. Texas A&M-CC lost a little steam in the second but eventually powered out the win 61-57 after a 39-35 deficit. Garry Clark was the only team player to finish in double-figures, but he did it in two different categories with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals in 33 minutes of action.

McNeese vs Texas A&M-CC Prediction
I’ll go with McNeese, but you could probably call this one either way. Both teams are coming off solid wins over decent teams as well. The Cowboys hit 54.1 percent from the field with a 44-28 rebounding edge in their blowout win over UTRGV. The 14 turnovers for 14 Vaqueros points were just about the only stat to complain about in that one. McNeese is cooking right now on this 10-game win streak. They’ve hit 75 or more points in each of the last nine games and should notch a nice total here also.
As for Texas A&M-CC, they bounced back nicely after their loss to Houston Christian, but they’ve also been below 70 points in two of the last three games (a 2-1 run). The Islanders normally score pretty well though, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a sizable points total on Monday. All things considered though, I like McNeese a little better.
