Boston College Eagles Betting Preview
The Eagles have had an up-and-down campaign so far; they’re sitting at .500 overall. Boston College opened the year at 3-2 with wins over the Citadel, Temple and Hampton among losses to Florida Atlantic and Central Connecticut. Since then it’s been a 2-3 stretch with wins over Harvard and New Haven among losses to Davidson, Tulane and LSU. That gives the Eagles a 5-5 run across their first 10 games this year.
In the New Haven matchup on Saturday, Boston College came out of the break with a 33-23 deficit. The Eagles woke up in the second half with a 44-30 run and took the comeback win 67-63, though. Fred Payne led the scoring on 18 points with four rebounds and two assists while Donald Hand had 13 points with three rebounds. Luka Toews had 12 points with a pair of assists in the win as well.
UMass Minutemen Betting Preview
Over on the UMass side, they started out the season with a .500 run through their first half dozen outings. The Minutemen beat Albany, Le Moyne and Central Connecticut in that time, falling otherwise versus Marshall, Charleston and Green Bay. Since then it’s been three straight wins though, as UMass has taken out Oregon State, Harvard and UMass Lowell in succession. That makes for a 6-3 record across the first nine outings for the Minutemen.
Matched up against the River Hawks on Saturday, the Minutemen entered the second half with a 42-32 edge. UMass kept it up from there on a 38-28 run and took the win 80-60. Leading scorer Marcus Banks had 17 points with three rebounds and two assists. Jayden Ndjigue had 15 points with six rebounds and four assists while Daniel Hankins-Sanford had 12 points with nine rebounds in the winning effort.

Boston College vs UMass Prediction
I’ll stick with UMass. The Minutemen didn’t have too much issue with UMass Lowell in their last outing, shooting 45.7 percent from the field with a 37-26 rebounding edge and a 48-30 advantage on points in the paint. UMass wasn’t great from outside (4-of-18 for 22.2 percent) and had 12 turnovers, but otherwise there’s not much to complain about. That gives the Minutemen three straight wins with 73 or more points scored in each.
As for Boston College, they had a real scare in their last matchup with New Haven but ultimately pulled it out. The Eagles shot a tepid 41.7 percent from the field with 15 turnovers and just six team assists, getting outscored in the paint 24-12 along the way. Boston College is 2-1 in their last three games with a lone OT loss to LSU in that time. Wednesday’s matchup could prove to be tricky, though.
