Marquette Golden Eagles Betting Preview
Marquette managed to keep their heads above water (barely) in their first nine games of the season, eking out a 5-4 run in that time. The Eagles would lose nine of their next 10 games versus Wisconsin, Purdue, Georgetown, Creighton, Seton Hall, UConn, Villanova, St. John’s and DePaul though. After wins over Providence and Butler in the last three outings the Eagles are sitting at 8-14 overall this year.
In their latest outing back on Tuesday versus Creighton, the Eagles stormed out to a dominant edge in the first half 52-23. Marquette was outscored from there 39-34 but it hardly mattered in a home blowout victory 86-62 in the end. Nigel James was the leading team scorer on 21 points with seven assists and five points while Royce Parham added 19 points with seven rebounds.
Seton Hall Pirates Betting Preview
Over on the Seton Hall side, they managed to win 11 of their first 12 games this year. The only blemish during that stretch of outings came on November 25 versus USC. After another loss to Villanova, the Pirates hit a three-game win streak then fell versus UConn, Butler, St. John’s and DePaul in the next four. Across the first 20 games of the year that would leave the Pirates with a 14-6 overall run.
Matched up against Xavier on Wednesday, the Pirates went into the second half in trouble, trailing 41-30 in a home matchup. Seton Hall woke up after that though, hitting a stellar 56-27 run the rest of the way toward an 86-68 comeback victory. TK Simpkins led the charge on 27 points with three assists and two rebounds while Adam Clark had 24 points with seven rebounds and four assists in the win.

Marquette vs Seton Hall Prediction
I’ll stick with Seton Hall. The Pirates had a pretty miserable first half in the Xavier game this week, but to their credit they turned it on in the latter part of the game and bagged an 18-point win. Seton Hall shot 42.9 percent from the field with a 39-27 rebounding advantage in that one, bagging a 40-28 edge on points in the paint as well. The Pirates had lost four straight games prior to that though, scoring fewer than 67 points in all of those defeats.
These teams already met up once this year in a 79-73 road win for the Pirates back on December 30. In that one Seton Hall didn’t shoot great (39.1 percent) but they held the Eagles to just 36.5 percent on the other side. The Pirates owned the boards 47-29 though, and did fairly well from the line (22-of-29 for 75.9 percent) alongside nine turnovers. Seton Hall should be fine in the home rematch if they can get that shooting percentage elevated.
