Manhattan Jaspers Betting Preview
Last season the Jaspers made some great strides in the win column over their disappointing 7-23 campaign from 2023-24. Manhattan ended up going 17-14 overall with a 12-8 run in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, which would put the team behind Quinnipiac, Merrimack, Marist and Iona in the standings. The Jaspers went into the postseason on a solid run, winning four straight games at the end. Manhattan would lose to Iona in the opener of the MAAC Tournament however, then fell to Incarnate Word in the first round of the CBI on March 23.
This year the Jaspers opened up with a pretty simple matchup versus St. Joseph’s Brooklyn. In that one Manhattan jumped out to a 55-27 halftime edge and closed with a whopping 70 points on the way to a 125-59 blowout victory at home. Leading the scorers in the win was Terrance Jones with 21 points and two rebounds in just 13 minutes of work. Devin Dinkins added 19 points with four assists, and Fraser Roxburgh had 15 points with 10 boards. Marko Ljubicic also doubled up in the win with 14 points and 12 rebounds in 21 minutes of action.
USC Trojans Betting Preview
Over on the USC side, they failed to reach the .500 mark last year but it was still an improvement over the 15-18 run in 2023-24. The Trojans finished 17-18 overall with a 7-13 run in a very difficult Big Ten Conference. That would put USC ahead of only Iowa, Nebraska, Penn State and Washington in the standings, tied record-wise with four other teams. In the conference tournament the Trojans beat Rutgers before a loss to Purdue. After a berth in the College Basketball Crown, USC took out Tulane then fell to Villanova in the quarterfinals.
Matched up against Cal Poly in their 2025-26 season opener on Monday, USC carried a modest 37-31 advantage into the locker room. The Trojans woke up on a 57-33 run in the second however, powering out the blowout win 94-64 in the end. Leading the way was Jacob Cofie with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Ezra Ausar added 21 points with six boards and four assists. Rodney Rice had 21 points as well, along with eight assists and two rebounds in 34 minutes of work on the floor during the winning effort for the Trojans.

Manhattan vs USC Prediction
I might take a stab on Manhattan here. Probably not touching it, though. The Jaspers have just one game in the books, and it was an easy one versus an overmatched St. Joseph’s Brooklyn team. In that one Manhattan shot a nice 58.7 percent from the field, 41.9 percent (13-of-31) from 3-point range and 24-of-31 (77.4 percent) from the line with just seven turnovers. The 52-20 advantage in rebounding, 62-18 edge in the paint and 31 team assists were pretty darn great as well, but it wasn’t exactly against top-shelf competition. It’s hard telling what the Jaspers will look like in a cross-country road game here.
As for USC, they had a modest 39-37 rebounding edge in their win over Cal Poly this past week but otherwise didn’t look too bad—unless you count the 13 turnovers. This matchup should be in the Trojans’ wheelhouse but I’d like to see them get off to a faster start.
