Manhattan Jaspers Betting Preview
Manhattan had some mixed results in the win column this year, but ultimately posted more successes than failures. The Jaspers were a shaky 7-8 through their first 15 games, but then beat Niagara, Mount St. Mary’s, Iona, Saint Peter’s, Merrimack and Fairfield in the next eight outings. After losses to Iona and Quinnipiac, Manhattan hit a win streak over Canisius, Niagara, Sacred Heart and Siena before a conference tournament loss to Iona back on March 13. That would give the Jaspers a 17-13 overall run through 30 games so far this season.
In the Iona matchup in the MAAC Championship Tournament quarterfinal, the Jaspers were down by two points at halftime. Manhattan was outscored 44-34 the rest of the way however, resulting in a disappointing loss 77-65. Leading the team in scoring was Wesley Robinson with a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. Devin Dinkins also had 15 points with two rebounds in 36 minutes off the bench, while Shaquil Bender had 12 points with three boards.
Incarnate Word Cardinals Betting Preview
Over on the Incarnate Word side, they had a rough run of games back in January and February, but otherwise they didn’t do too badly in the regular season. The Cards were 9-5 early in January, then lost to Lamar, Houston Christian, Nicholls, Texas A&M-CC, UTRGV and SE Louisiana in the next six. Incarnate Word went 7-4 the rest of the way with wins over New Orleans, Houston Christian, New Orleans again, UTRGV, Stephen F. Austin, Lamar, East Texas A&M and SE Louisiana. After a win over SE Louisiana in the conference tourney, the Cardinals fell to Nicholls on March 10, giving the team a 17-16 record in 33 games so far.
In the Southland Tournament quarterfinal against Nicholls, Incarnate Word posted a 36-35 advantage in the second half to force overtime. The Cardinals were outpaced 11-7 from there though, and ended up losing 74-70. Dylan Hayman managed 29 points with four rebounds and three steals, while Jalin Anderson had 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Lamin Sabally added 12 points with eight rebounds and four steals off the bench.

Manhattan vs Incarnate Word Prediction
I’m staying with Manhattan. The Jaspers didn’t play well in their last outing versus Iona though—especially in the second half. Manhattan put up just 32.8 percent shooting in that one with 6-of-31 (19.4 percent) from outside. The 13 turnovers for 14 Iona points didn’t help either, but the good news is that the Jaspers led the rebounding 40-35. The 65-point total was disappointing after four straight games (all wins) with at least 77 points for the Jaspers.
As for Incarnate Word, they held Nicholls to just 38.6 percent shooting from the field in their latest loss, but that’s about the only positive stat to come out of that game. The Cardinals hit a tepid 40.3 percent from the field themselves with just 22.7 percent (5-of-22) from 3-point range alongside a 45-35 rebounding deficit. Incarnate Word scored 20 points off 18 Colonels turnovers, but also had 12 miscues themselves. It was a near-miss loss against a decent Nicholls team, but still disappointing of course. Incarnate Word has 70 or more points in four of the last five games, but two of those went to overtime. The Cardinals are going to have to get the offense moving quickly if Manhattan starts strong.
