LMU Lions Betting Preview
Loyola Marymount got off to a nice 7-1 start this year, but they’ve won consecutive games just once since then. The Lions’ only wins since November 25 have come versus North Alabama, Morgan State, Pacific and San Francisco, and they’ve lost to Santa Clara, Oregon State, Portland, Seattle U, Oregon State and Santa Clara in succession over the last six games for a 11-13 record.
In the Santa Clara matchup over the weekend the Lions were blasted in the first half 44-31. Loyola Marymount didn’t end up getting any closer than that on a 60-42 run the rest of the way and took the loss in the end at home 104-73 in blowout fashion. MJ Amey led the team in the losing effort with his 18 points, seven rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes of work on the floor.
San Francisco Dons Betting Preview
Over on the Dons’ side, they limped to a 6-5 record over their first 11 games this year. San Francisco won five of the next six games though (losing to only Oregon State). Since then it’s been a 3-4 stretch with losses to Loyola Marymount, Saint Mary’s, Gonzaga and Santa Clara in the last seven outings. Over the first 24 games of the season that gives the Dons a 14-10 overall run.
Matched up against Pacific in a home game on Saturday the Dons were sitting in the locker room on a pretty slim 35-32 edge. San Francisco kept it up in the second half though, hitting a 52-50 run on the way to a victory 87-82 in the end. David Fuchs led the team in scoring with 30 points and nine rebounds while Tyrone Riley added 16 points with six rebounds in 34 minutes during the win.

LMU vs San Francisco Prediction
I’ll take a stab on San Francisco but this should be a pretty close matchup. The Dons were able to power past a solid Pacific team in a home matchup over the weekend thanks to 49.2 percent shooting, 28 rebounds and just seven turnovers. San Francisco did give up 50.8 percent shooting on defense, though. The Dons have given up a combined 170 points in the last two games, going 1-1 in that pair.
These teams last saw each other back on January 8 in a tense 84-82 double-overtime loss on the road for the Dons. In that one San Francisco didn’t shoot very well (36.6 percent) and had 13 turnovers alongside a 50-26 deficit on points in the paint. The Dons rebounded well though (42-30) and stayed in the game until the end. This rematch is likely to be a high-scoring affair as well.
