Loyola Marymount Lions Betting Preview

The Lions have played a half-dozen games so far this season. The opener was versus Lincoln CA and turned into a 137-54 blowout victory. Leading the way was Aaron McBride with 20 points, six rebounds and two assists. As for game two, LMU played Eastern Washington, eventually posting a 70-62 win. This time the top scorer was MJ Amey with 22 points and two boards. The Lions would keep it going in game three versus AR-Pine Bluff, securing a 94-72 win. Likewise with game four; that one was a 71-58 victory over UTEP. Loyola Marymount continued to roll with a 74-63 win over Troy on November 14.

In their latest outing versus UC Santa Barbara, the Lions were in trouble with a 40-31 deficit at halftime. LMU fought through overtime but eventually emerged with a 78-74 win in the end. Florida Atlantic Owls Betting Preview

Over on the Florida Atlantic side, they won two of their first three this year. The opener was against Boston College, and it took overtime for the Owls to eke out an 83-78 victory. FAU’s top scorer was Kanaan Carlyle with 19 points and two boards. Game two was another win for Florida Atlantic, this time 94-77 over College of Charleston. Loyola Marymount vs Florida Atlantic Prediction

I’ll lean toward LMU. The Lions had a scare versus UCSB in their latest outing, despite shooting a decent 43.3 percent from the field and staying competitive on the boards (38). The turnovers (11) weren’t terrible either, but Loyola Marymount’s ugliest stat was the 15-of-29 (51.7 percent) from the line. That’s got to get better moving forward. Still, that makes 70 or more points in every game so far for the Lions; they’re certainly scoring well.

As for FAU, they looked good versus Pacific in their last outing. The Owls shot 55.8 percent from the field and hit 13-of-16 (81.3 percent) from the line alongside a 27-21 rebounding advantage. The 13 turnovers were just about the only thing to complain about. FAU has 82 or more points in all four of their wins so far this year, and this one could be a pretty high total as well. It’ll be a fun one to watch.
