I’ll lean toward Winthrop. The Eagles shot a nice 48 percent from the field in their latest road win over Radford this week. Winthrop had a 38-32 edge in the paint but also committed 11 turnovers with a 41-35 rebounding deficit. Still, the Eagles are cooking these days on a nice nine-game win streak, posting 69 or more points in all of those outings.
These teams last met up back on December 31 in an 82-70 road loss for the Eagles. In that one Winthrop shot just 32.3 percent from the field with 20.8 percent (5-of-24) from outside and a 37-31 rebounding deficit. It wasn’t a great effort for the Eagles overall, and they’ll need a good bounce-back for the rematch. I like Winthrop to pull it off, though.
