Longwood Lancers Betting Preview
Longwood managed to post a .500 record through their first 18 games at 9-9 overall, then won three of the next four games over Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb and Charleston Southern. The Lancers hit a rough 2-4 run after that though. The losses in that time came versus USC Upstate, High Point, Winthrop and UNC Asheville. That gives Longwood a 14-14 record so far.
In the USC Upstate matchup on Saturday the Lancers held a three-point edge 31-28 going into the second half. Longwood was outscored 41-38 the rest of the way however, and had to go to overtime. Following the extra period the Lancers walked away with an 82-75 home win. Alphonzo Billups was the leading team scorer on 25 points with eight boards and three assists in the victory effort.

Over on the Presbyterian side, they were below the .500 mark after 18 games at 8-10 overall. The Hose managed to get it back on wins over UNC Asheville, Gardner-Webb and Charleston Southern, but then fell to Winthrop, High Point and Radford. Longwood vs Presbyterian Prediction
I’ll lean toward Presbyterian but you could call it either way. The Hose are coming off a tight win versus a middling UNC Asheville team, posting 43.4 percent shooting and a tepid 58.3 percent (7-of-12) at the line. Presbyterian had a 33-28 rebounding edge but also coughed up 13 turnovers and had a 40-32 deficit on points in the paint. The Hose are 2-1 in their last three games but they’ve scored below 69 points in each of those outings.
Back on January 10 when these teams last met, the Hose took a 77-70 loss on the road. Presbyterian posted a nice 52 percent shooting in that one but also had 13 turnovers and got beaten on the boards 32-24. The home setting should give the Hose a boost in the rematch, and I like them to get a little revenge. Should be a good game regardless though.
