Long Beach State Beach Betting Preview
The Beach had a pretty soft matchup versus La Verne in their first outing this year. LBSU scored 46 first-half points in that one, cruising to a 93-48 victory with 47 more points from there. Devin Askew led the team on 20 points with five boards and five assists.
Long Beach State wasn’t so fortunate in game two versus South Dakota State. After a 37-30 first-half deficit, the Beach fought back but fell short in an 80-70 defeat. Askew led the team with 27 points and eight assists this time. TJ Wainwright added 23 points.
San Francisco Dons Betting Preview
Over on the San Francisco side, they matched up against Cal Poly in their opener. The Dons held a four-point edge at halftime and added 47 second-half points in an 86-78 win. Tyrone Riley was tops with 26 points, while Malik Thomas put up 23 points.

Long Beach State vs San Francisco Prediction
I’m going to stay with San Francisco, but the line is a bit too thick to play around with. The Dons didn’t have a ton of issues versus a decent Boise State team in their last outing, notching 52.7 percent shooting from the floor, 39.1 percent from outside (9-of-23), and 89.5 percent (17-of-19) from the line. San Francisco also carried a 37-30 rebounding edge with 14 team assists. That makes 170 combined points in two games for the Dons.
As for LBSU, they had a slow first half against South Dakota State and it cost them in the end. The Beach were great from the line though, hitting 24 of 27 foul shots (88.9 percent) which helped offset the 35-31 rebounding deficit. I expect this one to be close most of the way as well, but I like the Dons a little better cover-wise.
