Lamar Cardinals Betting Preview
Lamar hasn’t been anywhere near as busy as a lot of teams out there so far this year; the Cardinals have just three games in the bag. They’ve won two of those three however, starting with a 93-53 outcome versus TAMU-SA on November 3. The Cardinals’ Jayden Gambrell led the way in the win with 27 points and six boards. As for game two, Lamar took their first loss of the season 78-65 against TCU. The Cards’ Rob Lee led the team this time with 26 points in 29 minutes of work on the court during the defeat.
In their last game versus Louisiana-Monroe on Monday, the Cardinals got back into the win column. Lamar was up 40-27 by the break and cruised to the win 79-66 on 39 more points from there. Tops in scoring was Andrew Holifield with 23 points and six boards. Braden East added 15 points with nine boards, and Cody Pennebaker had 10 points with nine rebounds.
Montana Grizzlies Betting Preview
Over on the Montana side, they’ve played a half-dozen games thus far. The Grizzlies demolished NWIC in their opener on November 3, posting a 106-41 victory. Game two was another blowout over Ottawa AZ; Montana cruised to a 73-39 win in that one. In the Stanford game, Montana took their first loss of the season 91-68. Leading team scorer Money Williams finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists. In the next outing the Grizzlies bounced back for a 102-93 win over UNLV, though. Williams led that one as well with 30 points and eight assists. Matched up against Cal Poly, the Grizzlies bagged another win 90-82 win. Money Williams led the way once again for Montana, notching 31 points, six assists and four rebounds.
The Grizzlies’ last appearance was on Tuesday versus Texas A&M. Montana was trailing by 14 points at halftime and eventually made a game of it but fell in the end 86-81. Money Williams bagged 22 points with seven assists and five rebounds to top the team. Brooklyn Hicks added 18 points and two rebounds in 22 minutes, and Tyler Isaak finished in double-digits as well with 13 points, seven assists and two rebounds in 35 minutes of work on the floor in the loss.

Lamar vs Montana Prediction
I’ll probably just stick with Montana here. The Grizzlies shot quite well overall in their loss to Texas A&M with 55.8 percent from the field and 51.6 percent (16-of-31) from outside along with a slim 28-27 rebounding deficit. Montana missed six of their 13 free throws however (53.8 percent) and coughed up 12 turnovers along the way. Letting Texas A&M shoot 53.7 percent from the field on the other side didn’t help matters either. Since their 91-68 loss to Stanford, Montana has scored well over the last three outings with 81 or more points in each (a 2-1 run). Lamar should be in the Grizzlies’ wheelhouse.
As for Lamar, they haven’t played since Monday but did pretty well in the win over a struggling LA-Monroe squad. The Cardinals shot 44.3 percent from the field in that one but did miss five of 16 free throws (68.8 percent) and hit just six of their 26 attempts from 3-point range (23.1 percent).
