Over on the Texas A&M side, they were able to muscle their way through the first 21 games with a nice 17-4 overall record. The Aggies would fall to Alabama, Florida, Missouri and Vanderbilt after that however, then beat Ole Miss and Oklahoma. In the Texas matchup back on Saturday the Aggies entered the game in the second half sporting a one-point edge 30-29. Texas A&M was outscored 47-40 in the remainder of the game however, ultimately leading to a loss on their home court 76-70. Leading team scorer Rashaun Agee had 22 points with eight boards and Marcus Hill chipped in 17 points with eight rebounds.

I’ll lean toward Texas A&M, but you could call this one either way. The Aggies didn’t play great in the second half against a Texas team they could have beaten in their last outing, eventually shooting just 38.3 percent from the field and 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from outside along with a 37-30 rebounding deficit. Texas A&M did pretty well in the paint though, and had just seven turnovers along the way. The Aggies are just 2-6 in their last eight games, giving up 76 or more points in each of those losses (and 82 or more in all but one).
As for Kentucky, they notched a nice win over a very good Vanderbilt team thanks to 58.8 percent from the field, 50 percent (11-of-22) from 3-point range and 80 percent (20-of-25) from the line. The Wildcats rebounded well but did get beaten in the paint 40-34 with 51.7 percent shooting allowed on defense. Texas A&M needs to get that shooting percentage up for this one or they’re going to be in the loss column again.
