Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview

Kansas has four games in the bag so far this year, starting with a 94-51 blowout win over Green Bay on November 3. The Jayhawks’ leading scorer in that one was Flory Bidunga with 23 points and six boards. Game two was a tough one versus North Carolina, and Kansas fell 87-74 in that one at Dean Smith Center. Darryn Peterson led the way this time with 22 points. In game three the Jayhawks got back on the horse with a 77-46 blowout victory versus Texas A&M-CC. Tops in scoring was Kohl Rosario with 16 points and five rebounds.

In game four Kansas took out Princeton without too much difficulty 76-57. Leading the way was Flory Bidunga with a double-double on 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Jayhawks.

Duke Blue Devils Betting Preview

Over on the Duke side, they opened up their year with a home matchup versus Texas. The Blue Devils weren’t looking good midway through with a 33-32 deficit, but got going after the break. Duke hit a 43-27 run the rest of the way in a 75-60 comeback win. Leading the way was Isaiah Evans with 23 points in 33 minutes of work on the floor. Cameron Boozer added a double-double on 15 points, 13 rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes. In their second outing of the season versus Western Carolina, the Blue Devils had an easier game. Duke posted a 45-21 edge into the locker room, then finished on a 50-33 run that gave the team a 95-54 win in the end. Tops this time was Cameron Boozer with 25 points, eight boards and five assists in 23 minutes. Cayden Boozer had a solid game as well with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Patrick Ngongba added 10 points with seven rebounds as well. The Blue Devils were able to keep it going against Army in game three, rolling to a 114-59 victory. Duke’s Dame Sarr led this time on 19 points and three rebounds in 20 minutes of action.

In game four versus Indiana State on Friday, Duke stayed undefeated. After a 51-32 first-half advantage the Blue Devils hit a 49-30 run for a 100-62 victory in the end. Cameron Boozer doubled on 35 points and 12 rebounds while Caleb Foster had 14 options with four rebounds and two assists. Dame Sarr was also in double-digits with 10 points in 18 minutes of work.

Kansas vs Duke Prediction

I’ll stick with Duke. The Blue Devils are cooking right now, though to be fair they’ve really only played one potentially dangerous team in Texas. In their latest win over Indiana State, Duke shot a nice 53.5 percent from the field with a 46-22 rebounding edge and a 54-26 advantage in the paint. Duke’s only real areas to complain about were the 12 turnovers and 14-of-21 (66.7 percent) from the line. Otherwise it was another pretty great effort against an overmatched team. Going up against Kansas will be the Blue Devils’ trickiest matchup so far though—no doubt about it. This one’s probably going to be a fairly high-scoring game, but in the end I like the Blue Devils to pull it off. Should be a fun matchup to watch regardless.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Duke Blue Devils -7.5
