Clemson Tigers Betting Preview

The Clemson Tigers enter Friday night’s contest with a 24-10 win-loss record, including a 12-6 mark in conference play and a 6-5 record on the road. The Tigers have compiled wins over New Hampshire, North Alabama, West Virginia, Alabama A&M and the Georgia Bulldogs, while dropping games to North Carolina State, Georgetown and the BYU Cougars.

Earlier this season, in the Clemson Tigers thrilling 97–94 overtime win over the Georgia Bulldogs, Clemson guard Jestin Porter tallied 18 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the field and 4 of 9 shooting from three-point range. Porter also added 2 rebounds and 1 steal in the Tigers win over the Bulldogs.

The Clemson Tigers are averaging 74.1 points on 45.3 percent shooting from the field and 34.1 percent shooting from behind the arc per game. Turning our attention to the defensive side of the basketball, the Tigers are allowing opponents just 66.7 points per contest which ranks 21st in the country.

Junior forward Carter Welling has been a standout performer for the Clemson Tigers averaging 10.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.9 steals per game. Senior forward RJ Godfrey is averaging 11.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.7 steals per contest. Senior guard Jestin Porter leads the Tigers backcourt averaging 10.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.

Iowa Hawkeyes Betting Preview

The Iowa Hawkeyes enter Friday’s contest with a 21–12 record, including a 10-10 mark in conference play and a 3-8 record on the road. The Hawkeyes have amassed wins over Western Illinois, Southeast Missouri State, Mississippi and Maryland, while losing to Michigan State, Maryland, UCLA and the Purdue Boilermakers.

In the Iowa Hawkeyes 83–64 victory over the Maryland Terrapins earlier this season, Iowa guard Bennett Stirtz compiled 25 points on 10 of 17 from the field and 4 of 8 shooting from three-point range demonstrating his ability to lead the Hawkeyes offense.

The Iowa Hawkeyes average 75.2 points on 49.1 percent shooting from the field (17th in country) and 35.7 percent shooting from three‑point range per game. Defensively, the Hawkeyes are allowing opponents 66 points per game which ranks 14th in the nation.

Senior guard Bennett Stirtz leads the Iowa Hawkeyes averaging 20.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Freshman forward Cooper Koch adds 6.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest, while senior guard Tavion Banks averages 10.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1 steal per game.

Why the Clemson Tigers will win

• Elite Defense. In 34 games played this season, the Clemson Tigers are allowing opponents just 66.7 points per game which ranks 21st in the nation.

• Balanced scoring. Porter, Welling, and Godfrey are all average over 10.5 points a game.

• Momentum. The Clemson Tigers have won three of the team’s last four games played this season.

Why the Iowa Hawkeyes will win

 • Quality defense. The Iowa Hawkeyes are allowing opponents 66 points per game which ranks 14th in the nation.

•Backcourt play. Senior guard Bennett Stirtz leads the Iowa Hawkeyes averaging 20.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

Clemson Tigers vs. Iowa Hawkeyes Prediction

This matchup sets up well for Clemson because their defensive structure naturally suppresses what the Iowa Hawkeyes do best. The Tigers are one of the ACC’s most disciplined half‑court defenses, and that matters against an Iowa team that leans heavily on Bennett Stirtz. In my view, Clemson’s overall team depth make the Tigers the more reliable side to be on in this contest. For the reasons just noted, I am backing Clemson plus the 2.5 points in this game.

Hans Geevers's Pick: Clemson +2.5
