-Recent Betting trends and streaks involving Canisius

-A summary that ties it all together and produces a favorable betting outcome for Today’s Game between the Gaels and Golden Griffins.

Iona and Canisius faced off on January 16th, and it was the Gaels who were able to secure the 82-61 victory. The home team has won the last three meetings between the two.

Can Iona Build on Their Last Game?

Iona has been up and down this season, but they hope the last victory is just what they need to get on a little roll before the conference tournament. Iona only scored 31 points in the second half, but it was enough as the defense gave up only 28 points in the first half to Niagara. Iona, as a team, shot 50 percent from the field. Dejour Reaves had a huge game, putting up 23 points and four rebounds. Two games ago, against Merrimack, they didn’t get the same result and ended up on the wrong side of a scoreline of 77-70.

Iona, overall, sits with a 13-16 record, but they have gone 16- 12- 1 against the spread. Away from home, they have gone 6-7. Iona is ranked 67th in terms of field goals attempted but is 311th in terms of field goal percentage. If they would hit just a few more shots per game, this season could have gone a lot differently. Dejour Reaves has been the top player, averaging 17 points while shooting 45 percent from the field.

What an Awful Year for Canisius

It has been an awful year for Canisius, and they are coming off with another loss in the last game. The Golden Griffins faced off against Manhattan, and they fell short. At halftime, they were up three points, but in the second half, it all fell apart, leading to the five-point loss. This is a top-heavy team that sometimes doesn’t show a whole lot of depth. Paul McMillan IV was the top player, putting up 21 points, four assists, and two rebounds. Three different players put up at least 18 points. The 4th highest scorer only had five points.

The Golden Griffins have a 3-25 record overall and have gone 12-16 against the spread. Canisius is averaging 65.9 points, while their defense is giving up 78.7 points per game. The offense needs to be better, but in this game, the defense must make the stops. It’s going to be hard for them to end up winning a high-scoring game. Paul McMillan IV has been the top player, averaging 20.3 points, shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from deep.

Iona vs Canisius Prediction

This total is too high. The first time these two teams faced off this season, Iona went over the 80-point mark, but don’t expect a similar output here. Iona’s offense hasn’t been great this season and they have continued to miss too many shots. The Golden Griffins offense has been even worse, averaging only 65.9 points per game. The last game went over, but the previous three games have stayed under, and there will be all kinds of missed shots by both teams here. Back the under to cash.
