Incarnate Word Cardinals Betting Preview
The Cardinals have a few bumps in the road so far this year but overall they’re not doing too badly. Incarnate Word opened on a 3-3 run, taking losses to Colorado State, Indiana and High Point; otherwise it was wins over Jarvis Christian, Southwestern Christian and Southern Indiana during that time. Since then the Cards have notched consecutive wins over Texas Lutheran and McNeese. That gives Incarnate Word a 5-3 overall record through the first eight outings of the season.
In their Monday game versus McNeese, the Cardinals held a modest 34-32 edge at halftime. Incarnate Word hit another two-point advantage in the second and powered out the win 71-67 in the end. Topping the scorers was Davion Bailey with 29 points, five assists and three rebounds. The only other player on the team to make double-figures was Jordan Pyke with 17 points, seven boards and two assists in the winning effort.
Nicholls State Colonels Betting Preview
Over on the Nicholls State side, they’ve come up empty so far this season. The Colonels went a futile 0-6 in the month of November, falling to Kentucky, Eastern Illinois, Valparaiso, Murray State, Oklahoma State and Tulane in that time—all on the road. Nicholls State kicked off December with another loss, this time versus Creighton. Over seven games that makes an ugly 0-7 run for the Colonels.
In Tuesday’s game versus Creighton, Nicholls State went into the second half on a 52-35 deficit. The Colonels didn’t end up getting any closer on a 44-41 run from there and lost big 96-76. Christian Winborne topped the team with 20 points and two assists while Trae English had 12 points with four assists and three rebounds. Jaylen Searles added 10 points with seven rebounds and two assists in the losing effort as well.

Incarnate Word vs Nicholls State Prediction
I’ll stick with Incarnate Word here. The Cardinals are coming off a pretty nice effort in a win over a good McNeese team. In that one Incarnate Word shot 46 percent from the field with a 29-22 rebounding edge, but did get outscored in the paint 32-24. The 15 turnovers didn’t help the Cardinals’ cause either, but they were able to power out the win. That gives Incarnate Word 71 or more points in four straight games, and they’ve gone 3-1 in that quartet.
As for Nicholls State, they’re coming off another big loss against another tough team in Creighton. The Colonels shot well (45.9 percent) and had just six turnovers in that one but also gave up 61 percent shooting on the other side and had a 34-22 rebounding deficit. Nicholls is scoring well lately themselves with 72 or more points in four straight; trouble is, they’re giving up a lot on the other side.
