Hofstra vs Princeton Prediction

I’m going to lean toward Hofstra but you could probably argue this one either way as both teams are coming off pretty easy opener victories versus overmatched teams. Hofstra shot a nice 49 percent from the field in their blowout win over St. Joseph’s Long Island, adding 39 percent (11-of-28) from 3-point range and a 57-29 rebounding advantage. The Pride held the opposition to 28 percent from the field on the other side. If there’s a gripe, it was the 56 percent (14-of-25) from the line.

As for Princeton, they drilled Carnegie Mellon on Monday to the tune of 51 percent shooting from the field and a 31-28 rebounding advantage. The Tigers led by 37 points at one spot, and a lot of the bench players got some mop-up time late in the game. This one should certainly be tighter, and will be a good early-season barometer as to where each team stands. Should be a fun one.

Hofstra Pride Betting Preview

Hofstra had a pretty satisfying year in 2025-26. The Pride rolled to a nice 24-11 overall record with a 12-6 finish in Costal Athletic Association games. That effort would put Hofstra behind only UNC Wilmington and Charleston in the conference standings. The Pride beat William & Mary, Towson and Monmouth on the way to a CAA Tournament championship before falling to Alabama in the NCAA Tournament.

This year Hofstra matched up against St. Joseph’s Long Island in Hempstead, New York for their first game on Monday. The Pride didn’t have too many issues rolling to a blowout win, taking it 97-51. Hofstra was led by Trey Boyd in the victory effort, as he put up 18 points and four rebounds. Joshua DeCady added 12 points with eight rebounds and Tanner Thomas had 10 points with seven boards. Nick Jefferson came off the bench for 11 points and six assists as well.

Princeton Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Princeton side, they had a pretty miserable season in 2025-26, taking a major step back from the previous year. The Tigers landed at just 9-20 overall with a 5-9 run in the Ivy League, finishing ahead of only Brown in the standings. With their ugly 1-6 skid in the final seven games of the regular season, Princeton shut themselves out of the conference tournament and ended their campaign for good.

The Tigers played Carnegie Mellon in their opening game of the season on Monday. Princeton didn’t have to do much in order to roll to a blowout win 78-46 in front of 451 fans at Jadwin Gymnasium. Dalen Davis led the team with 16 points and two assists alongside a pair of steals in the win. Christopher Kirkpatrick added 13 points and three boards in 22 minutes off the bench, and Jackson Hicke had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists in the victory effort.
