Hampton vs George Washington Prediction

I’ll stick with the Revs. George Washington pummeled an overmatched Navy team in their opener this week, cruising to a red-hot 55 percent from the field, 52 percent (14-of-27) from 3-point range and 94 percent (15-of-16) from the line. The Revolutionaries put up a 40-28 rebounding edge while holding the Midshipmen to just 24 percent shooting from the field and 11 percent (2-of-18) from outside. If GW can play anywhere near that well in game two, they’ll be cruising.

As for Hampton, they couldn’t find much of anything to build on in a 20-point blowout loss to Georgia Tech during their opener. The Pirates shot just 28 percent from the field, 20 percent (4-of-20) from outside and 57 percent (17-of-30) from the line while getting outmuscled on the boards 59-33. With some better offense here the Pirates might match up better but I don’t think they’ll make a cover.

Hampton Pirates Betting Preview

Hampton is coming off a pretty forgettable season in 2025-26. The Pirates went just 13-19 overall with a 7-11 run in Coastal Athletic Association play. That result would put the team ahead of only Elon, North Carolina A&T and Northeastern in the standings, and was a disappointment when compared to the team’s preseason expectations. Hampton lost the first game of the CAA Tournament versus Towson, ending their campaign for good.

In their first action of the 2026-27 season on Tuesday, the Pirates took on Georgia Tech at McCamish Pavilion in front of over 6,500 people. Hampton ended up losing that one by 20 points 75-55. Leading the team in the losing effort was the duo of Nehemiah Lawrence (three assists; three steals) and Etienne Strothers (three rebounds; three assists; four steals), each with 10 bench points along the way.

George Washington Revolutionaries Betting Preview

Over on the George Washington side, they didn’t fare terribly overall last year but struggled in the conference games. The Revs put up a 19-16 overall run with an 8-10 result in Atlantic 10 games. George Washington landed pretty far down the standings but beat Fordham in the first game of the conference tournament ahead of a loss to Saint Louis. The Revolutionaries would then beat Utah Valley in the NIT before a loss to New Mexico in game two.

Matched up against Navy in their opener on Monday, George Washington didn’t have too many issues. The Revs bagged a 91-39 blowout victory at Charles E Smith Center in Washington, DC. Tops on the team in the win was a trio from the bench. Ryder Frost put up 14 points with four boards in 19 minutes; Promis N’Landu had 14 points and three assists in 19 minutes and Felix Kossaras had 14 points and four rebounds in 21 minutes of work in the win.
