The Line: Betting Odds: Kansas -28.5 — Over/Under: +152
In this article we will formulate a Green Bay vs Kansas prediction for this College Basketball game on Monday, November 3rd at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.
Green Bay Phoenix Betting Preview
The Green Bay Phoenix were 4-28 (2-18) last season and they finished 11th in the Horizon League standings. Green Bay started the year with an 89-76 loss against Oklahoma State and followed that up with a 90-76 loss against St. Thomas. The Phoenix were actually 2-3 through five games last year, but won just two more games the rest of the way. Green Bay went on a 21 game losing streak, but did manage two wins over their last five regular season contests. The Phoenix lost their first game in the conference tournament by a score of 96-72 against Oakland to end the season.
This year, Green Bay has to replace their leading scorer, who averaged 25.7 points per game in just 11 games, but they return Marcus Hall, who averaged 13.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. The Phoenix also return Preston Ruedinger (8.0 ppg) and Mac Wrecke (6.1 ppg), so there is at least some experience coming back, but they are still expected to be at the bottom of the league this year.
Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview
The Kansas Jayhawks went 21-13 (11-9) last year and they finished sixth in the Big 12 standings. Kansas opened the season with an 87-57 win over Howard and followed that up with a 92-89 win over North Carolina. The Jayhawks won their first seven games of the year and they were 12-3 through 15 games. Kansas did run into some trouble in conference play, as their offense really struggled to put together complete games. The Jayhawks finished the regular season by winning three of their last five games, before beating UCF in the Big 12 tourney and losing to Arizona. Kansas did make the NCAA Tournament, where they lost to Arkansas by a score of 79-72 in the first round. Kansas scored 76.1 points per game last year, which was 113th in the nation, while they allowed 69.6 points against per game, which was ranked 91st.
This year, Kansas has to replace their top six scorers from last season, which accounted for roughly 63 points per game. The Jayhawks do return Flory Bidunga, who averaged 5.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, but that is pretty much it in terms of returners. Kansas did hit the transfer portal very hard, but we know that doesn’t always work and they will most likely be in for a slow start to the year.

Green Bay vs Kansas Prediction
Kansas comes into this season ranked #19 in the country, but that has to be based off of their brand, as this team has a ton of question marks. The Jayhawks always have decent talent, but they really struggled last season and I am worried about that happening again. Green Bay was one of the worst programs in the nation last year and I don’t expect them to be much better here. This is the perfect situation for Kansas to start the season, as they should roll over Green Bay, as they get used to playing together. Take the Jayhawks at home.
