Georgia Bulldogs Betting Preview

Georgia opened up their campaign this season on a very nice 13-1 run. The only blemish during that time came courtesy of Clemson in overtime on November 23. The Bulldogs hit a 3-5 run over their next eight games though, taking losses to Florida, Ole Miss, Texas, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Over the first 22 games of the year that would give Georgia a 16-6 record.

In the Texas A&M game last weekend, the Bulldogs entered the locker room with a 51-41 deficit. Georgia couldn’t make up any ground in the second half on a 41-36 run and took the rough loss at home in the end 92-77. Tops in scoring was Jeremiah Wilkinson with 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists while Dylan James doubled up on 13 points and 13 rebounds.

LSU Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Tigers’ side, they opened on a solid run as well by winning 12 of the first 13 games. The lone loss came in a blowout at home versus Texas Tech on December 7. LSU hit a rough 2-7 stretch in the next nine though, featuring losses to Texas A&M, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas and Mississippi State. That makes for a 14-8 record in 22 games so far.

In the South Carolina matchup last Saturday the Tigers were up by a point 36-35 by the end of the first half. LSU gave up the lead on a 43-42 run the rest of the way and had to go to overtime in order to power out a 92-87 victory on the road. Mike Nwoko led the team on his 21 points with three boards and Rashad King had 18 points with seven rebounds and three assists.

Georgia vs LSU Prediction

I’ll take a stab on Georgia but you could argue this one either way. It’ll be a fun matchup. The Bulldogs couldn’t hang with Texas A&M in their last outing though, thanks to just 39.7 percent shooting from the field and a 44-38 rebounding deficit. The good news is that Georgia had a 44-34 advantage in the paint but only took half as many free throws (10) as the Aggies did. that makes three straight losses for the Bulldogs, with 86 or more points surrendered in each.

As for LSU, they shot a very nice 51.7 percent from the field and 84 percent (21-of-25) from the line in their win over South Carolina. The Tigers also had advantages on the boards (34-27) and in the paint (42-36). LSU is still just 1-3 in their last four, but they’ve played some tricky teams in that time with three of the four being road matchups.
