Georgia State Panthers Betting Preview
The Panthers kicked off their year with an ugly stretch, winning just one (against Fort Valley State) of their first 10 games. Georgia State has just three losses since then however. They’ve beaten Jacksonville State, App State, Columbia College SC, Coastal Carolina, Marshall, LA-Monroe, Southern Miss and Arkansas State otherwise. That gives the Panthers a 9-12 record on the season so far.
In their matchup versus Arkansas State last weekend, the Panthers started out the second half with a slim two-point lead 38-36. Georgia State was outscored 45-44 the rest of the way but held on for a very tight win at home in the end 82-81. Jelani Hamilton was the team’s leading scorer with 38 points, three rebounds and one assist. Joah Chappelle added 13 points and four boards.
Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Betting Preview
Over on the Louisiana side, they opened on an ugly stretch this year themselves, beating only SE Louisiana over a 1-11 run across their first dozen outings. The Cajuns have since gotten better on a 4-5 stretch, taking losses to South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, Texas State and App State during those nine outings. Across the first 21 games of the season that gives the Cajuns a 5-16 run in the books.
Matched up against App State last Thursday the Cajuns were competitive in the first half on a 31-30 deficit. Louisiana lost the handle in the second half however, falling behind on a 41-28 deficit on the way to a 72-58 loss. Dorian Finister was tops in scoring with 16 points and two rebounds while De’Vion Lavergne added 13 points with seven assists and four rebounds.

Georgia State vs Louisiana Prediction
I’ll stick with Georgia State. The Panthers barely eked by a decent Arkansas State team in their last outing, shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 90.9 percent (20-of-22) from the line. Georgia State got beaten in the paint 38-16 though, and had a 35-16 rebounding deficit along the way. The Panthers are 7-2 in their last nine games though, and they’ve won four straight. Georgia State has scored a nice 69 or more points in all four of those wins as well.
As for Louisiana, they had a bad second half in their latest loss to App State, shooting just 37.9 percent from the field with a 31-20 rebounding deficit and 52.1 percent shooting allowed on defense. Louisiana is still 1-3 in their last four games, scoring fewer than 60 points in three consecutive outings.
