Furman vs Northern Iowa Prediction
I’m staying with Northern Iowa. The Panthers have looked pretty good in two games so far, and they’re coming off a nice effort versus South Dakota State. In that one Northern Iowa finished with 49 percent shooting and just 10 turnovers alongside a 36-28 advantage in the paint. That said, the Panthers also went just 11-of-20 (55 percent) from the line and got outmuscled on the boards 37-21. Both of those areas need sharpened up for Friday’s game, but if Northern Iowa can continue to press the issue on defense they should be fine. The Panthers have held opponents to a combined 115 points through their two games so far.
As for Furman, they didn’t have too many issues versus an overmatched Columbia International team in their last outing. That said, the Paladins haven’t been spectacular in either of their other two games. I like the Panthers to control this one pretty much from front to back.
