Ben VanderWal added 15 points and six rebounds while Tom House had 16 points, five assists and four rebounds in 22 minutes of work in the win.
Manhattan Jaspers Betting Preview
Over on the Manhattan side, they went 3-2 over their first five outings. Those wins came versus St. Joseph’s NY, Utah Tech and Mississippi Valley State. Since then the Jaspers have been on an ugly 1-5 skid, beating only Fairfield with losses otherwise versus Texas A&M, Wagner, Army, Marist and Fordham. Through 11 outings so far that gives the Jaspers a 4-7 overall run this year.
In the Fordham game last weekend, the Jaspers were down by six points at halftime. Manhattan limped through a 51-28 second half on the way to an 82-53 blowout loss. Anthony Isaac was the team’s only player to reach double-digits with 16 points and three boards. Jaden Winston chipped in nine points, seven assists and four rebounds in the losing effort.

I’ll stay with Furman. The Paladins didn’t have much issue with an overmatched Bob Jones team in their last outing, shooting 59.4 percent from the field with a 42-18 rebounding edge, 26 team assists and a 60-12 advantage on points in the paint. Furman is a nice 6-1 over their last seven games and hey’ve posted 73 or more points in all six of those victories.
As for Manhattan, they got blown away by a solid Fordham team in their last outing thanks to just 34.5 percent shooting from the field and 21.1 percent (4-of-19) from outside. The Jaspers got outmuscled in the paint 52-24 and on the boards 45-18 in a pretty rough game. Manhattan has given up a combined 162 points over their last two outings, so Furman shouldn’t have any trouble scoring here.
