Fordham Rams Betting Preview

Fordham has had mixed results in the record column so far this year and they’re sitting below the .500 mark overall. The Rams opened on a 3-5 run with losses to St. John’s, Manhattan, Drexel, Penn State, and San Francisco. A win streak over New Hampshire, Fairleigh Dickinson, Maine, Bryant, and Albany came next, then a six-game losing streak. Those defeats came versus Saint Louis, St. Bonaventure, VCU, Davidson, UMass, and Loyola. Since then it’s been a 3-2 run with wins over Duquesne, La Salle, and Rhode Island mixed with losses to St. Bonaventure and Dayton. That gives the Rams an 11-13 overall run through 24 games so far.

In the Dayton matchup on Wednesday, the Rams went into the break with a 48-48 tie. Fordham stumbled in the second half though, getting outscored 45-28 in an eventual loss 93-76. Tops in scoring was Jackie Johnson with 24 points and four assists in the losing effort. Japhet Medor had 17 points and three assists, while Joshua Rivera came off the bench for 17 points and three rebounds in 28 minutes on the floor.

Richmond Spiders Betting Preview

Over on the Richmond side, they haven’t had much luck in the win column—especially during 2025. The Spiders went 7-8 over their first 15 games of the season, falling to Marist, Charlotte, Bucknell, LA Tech, Auburn, Belmont, William & Mary, and Florida Gulf Coast in that time. Since then the Spiders have won just once, taking out Duquesne on February 5. Otherwise, it’s been losses to George Mason, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis, Davidson, George Washington, VCU, Davidson, and Loyola in succession. Overall that gives Richmond a rough 8-17 record so far through their first 25 games this year.

Matched up against Loyola on Tuesday, the Spiders hit a 34-31 deficit in the first half. Richmond rallied to force overtime but eventually lost 87-80 in a tough outcome. Mike Walz led the scoring in the losing effort with 20 points, four rebounds, and four assists in 29 minutes. Mikkel Tyne added 18 points with seven rebounds, and B Artis White had 16 points with six rebounds in his 36 minutes of work during the defeat.

Why the Richmond Spiders will win

  • Richmond has won seven of its last eight games at Robins Center after coming off overtime.
  • Fordham has lost each of its last six Saturday games against the Atlantic 10 Conference.
  • Fordham has lost the first half in each of its last six Saturday games against Conference opponents.

Why the Fordham Rams will win

  • Richmond has lost nine of its last 10 games against the Atlantic 10 Conference.
  • The road team has won three of the last four games between Fordham and Richmond.

Fordham vs Richmond Prediction

I’m going to stay with Fordham. There’s not a lot to get excited about here if you’re not a fan of either team, though. The Rams had a bad second half against a pretty solid Dayton team in their last outing but didn’t play terribly overall. The 15 turnovers for 18 Flyers points were what really got in Fordham’s way—that and the 53.7 percent shooting allowed. Aside from that, Fordham posted 49.1 percent shooting from the field with 29 rebounds and 16 team assists in a decent effort. That makes two losses in the last three games for the Rams, but they’ve also scored 72 or more points in four straight.

As for Richmond, they put up a good fight against Loyola in their last outing but ultimately fell short. The Spiders are giving up a truckload of points lately: 71 or more in five of the last six games. Fordham should have plenty of scoring opportunities on Saturday, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a close game.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Fordham Rams +1.5
