Florida State Seminoles Betting Preview
The Seminoles were looking pretty good into mid-January, but they’ve run into some troubles in the win column over their last few outings. Florida State opened on a 7-1 run with wins over Northern Kentucky, Rice, Tarleton State, Hofstra, Temple, UMass, and Western Carolina alongside a lone loss to Florida. A 4-4 run came next with wins over Tulane, Winthrop, Syracuse, and Miami along with losses to LSU, NC State, Louisville, and Clemson. After wins over Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech, the Seminoles have since lost three in a row. Those losses have come versus California, Stanford, and Virginia Tech for a 13-8 overall record this year.
In the Virginia Tech matchup on Wednesday, the Seminoles came out of the break looking up at an ugly 35-15 deficit on the scoreboard. Florida State got better in the second half with a 51-41 run but still lost 76-66 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Taylor Bol Bowen with his 14 points and nine rebounds with one steal. Jerry Deng came off the bench to provide 13 points with four rebounds, and Jamir Watkins chipped in nine points with five boards.
Boston College Eagles Betting Preview
Over on the Eagles’ side, they started out the season on a nice-looking run. Boston College has only won consecutive games once since late November, though. The Eagles took out the Citadel, Temple, Loyola MD, Old Dominion, Missouri State, and Boise State during a 6-1 start. A 3-4 run came next with wins over Stonehill, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Miami amid losses to Dartmouth, South Carolina, Wake Forest, and SMU. Since then it’s been six straight losses to Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Duke, Virginia, and North Carolina in succession, however, giving Boston College a sub-.500 record of 9-11 overall through 20 games so far this year.
Matched up against North Carolina in their outing last weekend, the Eagles had a tight matchup the whole way and needed overtime to decide an eventual 102-96 defeat. Leading the team in the losing effort was Donald Hand with 26 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Dion Brown added 20 points with three rebounds and three assists, while Chad Venning put up 17 points with three assists. Jayden Hastings and Fred Payne each chipped in eight bench points as well.

Why the Florida State Seminoles will win

- Florida State has won six of its last eight games following a home loss.
Florida State vs Boston College Prediction
I’ll lean toward the Seminoles. We should have a decent matchup here if both teams play well, though. Florida State didn’t perform to their capabilities at home versus a middling Virginia Tech team in their latest loss, shooting just 40.3 percent from the field with a 42-39 rebounding deficit and 11 turnovers. The ugly 15-point total in the first half is really what killed FSU in that defeat. That makes three straight losses for the Seminoles, and they’ve given up 70 or more points in five straight outings now (a 2-3 run).
As for the Eagles, they’re sitting on a six-game losing streak. Boston College is giving up a lot of points as well: 74 or more in all six of those losses. This game could break a lot of different ways, but I like FSU slightly better in the end.
