Florida Gulf Coast Eagles Betting Preview
The Eagles beat New College FL in their opener this year, then fell to Illinois and Georgia Southern in the next pair. Florida Gulf Coast hit a win streak versus Chattanooga, Samford, Oral Roberts and Rice in the next four, but they’ve since lost four straight versus Kennesaw State, Florida International and Florida Atlantic. That gives the Eagles a 5-5 overall run across their first 10 games this year.
Last weekend versus FAU, the Eagles were up by one point at the break. Florida Gulf Coast was outscored 45-39 the rest of the way during an 81-76 loss. Tops in scoring was Rahmir Barno with 21 points, three assists and two rebounds. JR Konieczny put up 17 points with eight rebounds and Jordan Ellerbee had 13 points with five assists and four rebounds.
New Mexico Lobos Betting Preview
Over on the Lobos’ side, they were able to win their first three games this year. New Mexico took out East Texas A&M, Texas-Arlington and UC Riverside in that time, then fell versus New Mexico State and Nebraska. The Lobos took wins over Mississippi State, Alabama State, New Mexico Highlands and Santa Clara from there, giving the team a 7-2 overall run across their first nine games of the year.
Matched up against VCU on Wednesday, the Lobos came back from a 46-41 halftime deficit, posting a 40-32 run in the second on the way to an 81-78 win in the end. Jake Hall led the way with 24 points, and Deyton Albury had 14 points with four rebounds. Tomislav Buljan had 11 points with three rebounds in the winning effort for the Lobos as well.

- Florida Gulf Coast has lost the first half in three of its last four games.
Florida Gulf Coast vs New Mexico Prediction
I’ll stick with the Lobos. New Mexico got off to a slow start in the VCU game but finished strong. The Lobos hit 50 percent from the field and 19-of-22 (86.4 percent) from the line alongside 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from 3-point range. New Mexico got outmuscled on the boards 33-29 and had 13 turnovers though, so there’s room for improvement. The Lobos are currently enjoying a five-game win streak, and they’ve scored 80 or more points in each of those victories.
As for FGCU, they shot well (50.9 percent) from the field in their last loss to Florida Atlantic but also got out-rebounded 33-23 and had 14 turnovers along the way. The Eagles have been scoring well this year with 70 or more points in every game and 76 or more in each of the last eight. That said, Florida Gulf Coast is also giving up a lot on the other side lately so New Mexico should have ample opportunity to score in this one.
